Its that time of year that high school and college students look forward to all year,Spring Break.
Spring Break means fun in the sun with all your buddies. However, its all fun and games until something bad happens.
Read this article to ensure that you have the fun you deserve with out the worries of something bad happening.
I would like to encourage making safe and healthy choices during your spring break. The vast majority of students will go away to spring break; they will have fun and return home safely, but a each year numerous students will fall victim to alcohol poisoning, date rape, assault, robbery, and even murder.
Studies suggest that nearly all cases involve drug or alcohol abuse. The sad part is that most of those cases could have been prevented by following a few basic common rules to ensure safety.
Survival Tip #1 Buddy System
The buddy system means power in numbers. It’s a great system when you are in a new city our even county. You don’t know the area and if it is safe or not.
Spring breakers and tourist are often targets for local troublemakers to take advantage of, especially since most college students feel invincible (especially after drinking).
Make sure to stay with a group or a buddy at all times and most important, no one is to go anywhere by themselves.
Survival Tip #2 Monitor your Drinking
Its Spring Break and only natural to expect to drink and party like its going out of style. With that said, don’t binge drink it’s not cool and can kill you.
Alcohol poisoning is real and can make you extremely sick. The last thing you want to do after spending all your money on Spring Break is to end up in the hospital and miss out on all the fun.
Again, the buddy system comes into play. You and your friends know each other and what you can handle. Keep and eye out for each other and if you see someone that has passed their limit get them back to the hotel safely.
It’s important to make sure they don’t pass out, if they do, lay them on their stomach. If your friend is really bad get professional help, don’t fool around.
Survival Tip #3 Date **** – Watch your Drinks
Unfortunately ladies need to be much more away of there surroundings when partying at Spring Break.
It’s unfortunate but there are men just waiting for you to leave your drink unattended to slip a date **** drug in it. Date **** drugs are odorless and often colorless and tasteless, they can get slipped into drinks easily and go unnoticed.
This being said, at parties and clubs, never leave your beverage unattended, and never take drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) from strangers.
Survival Tip #4 Keep an eye on the Sun
A day at the beach with blue skies, sun shining and no worries sounds good right? That is unless you get a severe sun burn, dehydration or heat stroke(which can all happen very quickly).
In order to have a good time at the beach make sure to apply sunscreen(often), drink plenty of water(not alcohol) and eat food.
Survival Tip # 5 Hotel Safe
The first thing you should so when you arrive at your hotel is ask about a safe. Most hotels either offer a safe in your room or safe deposit box upon request.
Place your passport, airline tickets, money, credit cards, jewelry, etc in the safe. If you value it don’t leave it behind in the hotel.
Survival Tip # 6 Hooking up
Again, its Spring Break and only natural to expect that there will be lots of ?hooking up? going on. If you plan on hooking up make sure to buy and use condoms. The last thing you want to worry about on Spring Break is getting or going home with and STD.
Also if you plan on hooking up with someone, especially a stranger let your friends know where you will be. This way if you don’t come home or something happens they know where to look for you.
Survival Tip #7 Protect Yourself-Basic Self Defense
It is important to know how to defend yourself should you ever the need every arise. Many colleges offer self defense classes. You can also check out local training and mixed martial arts classes (my preference).
Another option is to purchase non lethal self defense products such as pepper spray(check with your state to see if you need permit to carry).
What you just learned about Spring Break is just the beginning. To learn more about Spring Break check out the number one site on the internet, Spring Break Nation where you will find pictures, videos, blogs, stories, games and much more.

There’s nothing better than a day at the beach. The sun, the surf…what could be more fun? However, no environment is risk free. The ocean is powerful and unpredictable, and without the proper safety precautions our local beaches can be dangerous. If you are a parent, please review this information with your kids before you visit the beach.
1. Learn to Swim. The ocean is powerful and can be difficult to navigate. Do not enter the ocean unless you know how to swim. Similarly, never rely on flotation devices such as rafts or boogie boards in place of actual swimming ability. If you fall off the flotation device, but do not know how to swim, you could panic and have difficulty retrieving your flotation device. Drownings can happen this way.
2. Swim Near a Lifeguard. The numbers don’t lie. According to the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA), the odds of drowning at a public beach are nearly five times as great without lifeguard supervision. The risk of drowning at a lifeguard-protected beach is nearly nonexistent – 18,000,000 to 1 – with lifeguard protection. Always swim near an open lifeguard tower. No lifeguard? No swimming!
3. Protect Your Head and Neck. Never dive into the ocean headfirst – it’s a leading cause of head and neck injuries. Always enter the ocean feet first, and when you are boogie/body boarding, keep your hands out in front to protect your head and neck.
4. Never Swim Alone. Safety in numbers? You bet! Always swim with a buddy and never swim alone, because many drownings involve single swimmers. If you ever get lost or separated from your buddy, tell the lifeguard immediately.
5. Obey All Posted Warning Signs and Flags. Signs and flags alert you to ocean safety conditions. For clarification about what they mean, ask a lifeguard.
6. Never Turn Your Back on the Ocean. Even the smallest wave can knock you over and cause injury, especially if you are caught by surprise. Always face forward and never turn your back on the ocean.
7. Learn About Rip Currents and How to Get Out of Them. Ever notice that “muddy” ocean water appearance flowing away from the shore? Chances are, that’s a rip current. Most lifeguard rescues are due to people getting caught in rip currents. Even the strongest swimmers get caught in them. They are dangerous because they pull you away from the beach into deeper water. To get out of a rip current, do not fight the current by trying to swim to shore. Instead, swim parallel to the shore until you are out of the current. Then you can swim safely back to the beach.
8. Avoid Drugs and Alcohol. Alcohol and drugs can impair your judgment. Under their influence you might take unnecessary risks you otherwise would not. Alcohol, which can lower your body temperature and weaken your swimming ability, plays a significant role in many drownings.
9. Beware of Trash and Broken Glass. Your bare feet are perfect targets for broken glass and other trash all over the beach. Walk gingerly and beware of these and other hazards. It is best to keep your shoes on while walking between your car and the area of the beach you set up.
10. Don’t Forget the Sunscreen! Sunscreen protects you and your family from harmful UVA and UVB rays that can lead to sunburn and skin cancer. It should be applied several times during your day at the beach, especially after spending time in the water.

If you are looking for a great vacation where you dont need a passport, or to exchange money, and place where you dont need a translation book. Then end your

The Biggest Towns in Maui:
1. Kahului
2. Wailuku
3. Lahaina
In Maui, there are 81 accessible beaches. 39 have public facilities. Sands may be white, gold, black, salt and pepper, green or garnet, due to ancient volcanic activity. Wailea beach is in South Maui. Crescent-shaped and protected on each end by black lava points, the waters of Wailea Beach are exceptionally calm, with light waves that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling (and gentle enough for children.
The beautiful views of the island are seen from a luxury family resort the Wailea Beach Villas. Sunsets and pristine beaches; soothing and melodic waves are everyday sights and sounds for the duration of a stay. Wailea Beach Villa Condos are luxury for United States tourists as well as tourists from other countries. Canadians are frequent and satisfied visitors of this beautiful destination. Most take in the beautiful views from their private lanai while you enjoying coffee in the morning or favorite wine in the evening.
When asking staff on site what is one thing that distinguishes the Villas — ‘Exceptional privacy and security’– tends to be an overwhelming message. This gated community will offer 24-hour security, as well as exclusive access to individual residences through private elevators.
At the Wailea Beach Villas, condos are available for rent for luxury accommodations. Spacious rooms and elegant furnishings are all accessible in every luxury vacation rental. A dream gourmet kitchen with every accoutrement. Of course, there are many great restaurants to enjoy in Wailea Beach. Outside find tropical gardens complete with tiki torches, pools, and waterfalls and fitness centers. Visit the spa and shops (shops at Wailea) nearby; take leisurely moon lit walks on the beach.
‘We are planning our next trip to Maui in February 2009 during school’s winter break and have already booked the same unit for our stay! We loved Wailea Beach Villas!’ — David French said, after returning home from his stay with his family.
December through April is prime whale watching time, and Wailea Beach has some nice vantage points. Rent equipment from the nearby resorts, but prices are much better at places like Snorkel Bob’s or the Maui Dive Shop.
The beautiful Pacific Ocean is steps from the door to swim or surf at Wailea Beach. If, Wailea Beach doesn’t sound right in luxury or paradise then consider the enjoyment of the other 80 exquisite beaches. Rent a car for the freedom of self-guided tours at your own pace or sign up for the many tour packages. Rent a bicycle and enjoy the sights of the island.
Which could include the following five popular sights to visit:
1. Oheo Gulch Kipahulu
2. Hana Highway
3. Waianapanapa State Wayside Park
4. Alau Island
5. Kula Botanical Gardens

Combine your special day and your honeymoon in one romantically beautiful destination. You and your guests can look forward to a tropical Maui vacation. You will find this is an excellent choice for family vacations or a place to gather friends from far and wide.
Some of the free wedding sites or low in cost would be among the beach parks or coves. The best ones are located on the South and West sides of the island. The weather is perfect and the scenery is incredible. There are no fees for these grounds and no reservations are necessary, therefore you might run into other weddings going on at the same location.
Some Popular wedding Locations include:
1. Kapalua Bay
2. Kaanapali Shores
3. North Maluaka Beach
If you feel luxurious and romantic weddings which require a helicopter ride to a remote destination make for a memorable Maui wedding.
No matter the occasion luxury in paradise can be obtained anywhere on your Maui Vacation.

Its rolling grasslands and acacia savannah have time and again been captured on film with the movie “Out Of Africa” being the most famous. Masai Mara is home to the “Big Five” (Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard and Rhino) and over 450 bird species. Apart from the big five, the Masai Mara is most famous for the spectacular annual migration of over a million wildebeest, zebra, gazelle etc from the Serengeti in northern Tanzania crossing the Mara River into Kenya in search of fresh feeding grounds, which takes place in late July or August. During this crossing, hundreds of animals are swept away by the first moving Mara River and others are killed by the ferocious African Crocodiles. This crossing gives true meaning to the phrase “Survival of the fittest”.

This area boosts of unique northern species of wildlife which are not found in any other part south of equator, here you will find the Grevy zebra, Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, the long necked gerenuk, herds of elephants and their predators abound. Beautifully situated beneath the foot of Africa’s highest mountain Mt. Kilimanjaro (5895m), the park is well renowned for its huge herds of elephants and various types of other Savannah wildlife such as Giraffes, Bushbuck’s, Kudu, Warthog’s, Zebra’s and over 425 species of birds recorded here. The snowcapped peak of Kilimanjaro rising above white clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli and forms a backdrop to an impressive display of wildlife attracted to this location by swamps and springs fed by underground rivers from Kilimanjaro’s melting snow. With an airstrip at Empusel Gate, the park is also home to the Masai people, those tall, brave, and proud nomads who live in close harmony with the environment and the wildlife that surrounds them. Amboseli was the location around which such famous writers like Sir Ernest Hemingway and Robert Ruark tailored their stories of big game hunting in the wilds of Africa.

Like many other people, when it comes to traveling I’m pretty well-rounded as far as where I have been and what I have experienced. I have visited almost every single state in the US plus I have visited a few other places as well such as France, Tuscany, Australia and, you guessed it, Thailand.
If I had to make a top ten list it would be incredibly hard considering there are so many beautiful places to visit on the planet but, if I absolutely had to, I would definitely pick Thailand and place it somewhere between Japan and Rome. Thailand or even more specific Pattaya resides on the east coast Gulf of Thailand about 165 km southeast of Bangkok.
Officially titled as The Kingdom Of Thailand this popular country has more visitors than any other country in Southeast Asia and with the incredible combo of both natural beauty, amazing temples and exquisite culinary options, very few countries match up! One of the main attractions in Pattaya is the wonderfully exotic beaches, and also the beach resorts.
There are several different specialty hotels and resorts that offer all kinds of extras that you might not see in places such as the United States. Of course in the USA we have hotels called “boutiques” but it is nothing like Pattaya has to offer. Listed below you will find my top three picks of the best beach resorts located in Pattaya, all of these resorts offer something special so please make sure you take time to read them!
Royal Cliff Beach Resort & Spa – This is one of the very few resorts that actually offers M.I.C.E service which is organized to allow customers such as yourself to have everything you need, allocated in one place. I like to call these “one stop shops.” M.I.C.E is an acronym which stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions.
This resort in particular offers 1,200 rooms, 10 award winning restaurants such as Grill Room & Wine Cellar, Maharani, Panorama, Larn Thong & Terrace, Japanese Corner, Palm Terrace and the Royal Bar. All of these restaurants can be found on the website which also include all the information about the restaurant as well as a 360 degree virtual tour!
The Royal Cliff also offers a private beach area which are all within walking distance of an 8000 seat exhibition and convention hall with 56 meeting rooms, and as if that weren’t enough, the hall has 5 star catering! The resort is also conveniently located a half kilometer from the airport! This place is absolutely amazing, I only hope you take the time to check it out!
Garden Cliff Resort & Spa – This hotel in particular is much smaller than the Royal Cliff but still just as beautiful! It has about 240 rooms and is located in the east of Thailand close to the sea. The atmosphere surrounding the outside and inside of the building are constructed so that it created harmony with the environment. The building is composed of lobby, coffee shop, ballroom and conference room and the recreation part for example massage room, outdoor swimming pool, etc. Really nice pics so make sure you check the site out!
Riviera Resort – And this is smaller yet, with only about 60 rooms. However, 60 rooms isn’t bad at all for what this resort offers, it’s not supposed to be a top dog like the other two, this one really is just for people that are looking for something super relaxing, very inexpensive and very quaint.
This would probably be good if you wanted to go somewhere by yourself or maybe even with kids. The other two are great if you want to do business or go with a group of friends or a group of people that are business associates. This place is nice as well however, I find that it has a very nice ambiance.
beach pics
For lunch, fast food lovers will find the City Grill restaurant on Walking street a good call, with its excellent selection of burgers, hot dogs and similar fare, while Bob’s BBQ & Grill makes some pretty awesome Wagon Wheel burgers and tasty barbecued ribs. In addition, a branch of the famous chain Subway is located on Pattaya Klang road and sells the usual impressive selection of hearty sandwich creations.
For a lunch with a distinctly English flavour, Pat’s restaurant on soi 3 is well -known for its fish and chips, pie and chips and Sunday roasts, while the Queen Victoria Inn on soi 6 has favourites like shepherd’s pie, ploughman’s lunch and Cumberland sausage with mash.
Come sunset, hunger will be creeping up on you again and it’ll be time to find an evening dining destination. The selection in this category is a good deal wider than that of lunchtime venues, with many establishments only opening their doors for evening business including many Thai eateries of the roadside variety.
The stalls of Thai food vendors are ideal places at which to find cheap and authentic local cuisine. As long as you don’t mind the absence of competent English speakers and the grit and grime of the roadside setting, these stalls are great places to enjoy an evening meal.
If you still want Thai food but in a more pleasant environment, then Somsak on soi 1 offer authentic cuisine at affordable prices, while Baan Thai on Central road presents a nouvelle cuisine approach to Thai food (and its prices reflect this). For dining alongside live performances, head for PIC Kitchen on soi 5 or Adam & Eve’s at Sabai Jai Village, Sukumvit road.
International options in Pattaya are plentiful and include French, Belgian, German, English, Italian, Mexican, Japanese and Indian. While international establishments are invariably run by Thai staff, the proprietors are generally foreign and on hand to oversee operations.
Pattaya has a good selection of French eateries among which is Mon Ami Pierrot on Walking street and Au Bon Coin on soi 5 (the latter having the better reputation of the two). At Klein Vlaanderen on the Pattaya 2nd road customers can enjoy authentic Belgian cuisine, as they can at Patrick’s Belgian situated at the Diana Arcade. Italian food is best enjoyed at either Duilio’s on Central road or at Little Italy situated opposite the Royal Garden Plaza. Pattaya’s finest restaurants
For a good curry of the Indian variety, Ali Baba on Central road or Sher E Punjab on Beach road should fit the bill, while Yamato on soi Yamato is a safe bet for Japanese cuisine. Daidomon at Big C and the Royal Garden Plaza also offer Japanese food although they have a chain-restaurant feel. Finally, if it’s tacos and chili you are after try out the Mexican cuisine at either the Tequila Reef on soi 7 or the Blue Parrot on soi 2.
After dinner, the appeal of an ice cold beer or wine cooler at one of Pattaya’s watering holes may well encourage you to set off in search of the best spot at which to enjoy a pleasant drink. Depending on the kind of character you are after, you may want to take advantage of the city’s abundant girly-bar selection, a booming scene which dominates the main drinking area known as Walking street.
It is however possible to avoid the venues associated with this scene. Kilkenny’s Irish Pub, for example, is a great little place to enjoy a drink with likeminded individuals, as is the Bamboo Bar on Walking street. On Beach road, the Hard Rock Café, Hopf Brew House and Rosie O’Grady’s offer pleasant ambiences with no skin trade associations. For a pub with a traditional English atmosphere and beverages to match, try the Queen Victoria Inn on soi 6 of the Pattaya 2nd road, while Shenanigans, located on the same road, is a cheery Irish style venue.
To be entirely sure of avoiding the riff-raff and not having to be accosted by flirtatious young Thai ladies, visitors are advised to seek out the bars at the city’s respectable hotels such as the All Seasons on Pattaya 2nd road, Sheraton in Pattaya Hill, Royal Orchid Resort in North Pattaya and Marriot on Beach road. Best Pattaya bars While these venues are unlikely to raise the roof, they do offer quiet and upmarket settings where drinks may be pricey but the atmosphere is anything but cheap.
These hotels and others of a similar rating all have their own restaurants and it’s worthwhile considering enjoying a high quality meal of either Thai or international food in one of their dining suites before retiring for a relaxing drink in the bar.

This residential resort, as I was told by locals in Maui, is the best on the island. Nothing does compare, when combining luxury and paradise, in Wailea. Dare I proclaim that this luxury residential resort, located in the heart of Wailea, Maui is the finest in luxury destination resorts?
Located at 3800 Wilea Alanui. The luxurious beach villas on Wailea Beach, are footsteps from The Shops of Wailea . The resort offers discerning travelers the privacy and comfort of spacious floor plans. All accommodations include the comforts of centralized air conditioning , and ceiling fans in every room. Room service – Upon request, staff delivers breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week. A chef is on call for hire. These luxury vacation condos in Maui are the culmination of many years of planning, design and development experience in Hawaii. The villa resort is a planned paradise situated in the very heart of Maui’s sunny southwestern coast .
The Wailea Beach Villas feature spectacular views of the West Maui mountains and the islands of Lanai, Kahoolawe and the Molokini Crater. The Maui Escape, is a for rent by owner villa within the resort. The Maui Escape provides year around accommodations and exhibits the paradise of the resort on their website. It is a two bedroom, two bath condo, with custom bathrooms, custom kitchen with a view of Lanai.
An example, of a larger unit would be The Golden Mandarin, a three bedroom, three and a half bath luxurious upscale residence with creative and opulent East Asian decor. The visitors staying in the “Golden Mandarin” claimed The unit was “spectacular” – 3bedroom/3bath 2nd floor penthouse with gorgeous ocean views. The unit was really spacious and appointed with high-end everything from the granite kitchen with TWO sub-zero refrigerators, bathrooms with glass shower enclosures, sophisticated yet comfortable furnishings, 2 plasma & 2 flat screen TVs.
Even with the two bedroom accommodations of the Maui Escape, it was still very spacious. At least, 2200 square footage of well designed space, which can sleep at least six people.
Luxury does come at a cost but depending on the size of your party it’s not too bad. Compared to it’s neighbor the Grand Wailea, it pencils out to the same amount of money spent. If you have to book three rooms, then the pricing for one unit is close. Adding to that, Wailea Beach Villas has a full kitchen.
Other common gripes are if your property is tucked near the back, it’s a farther walk to the beach. I have heard common feedback from retired over 65 folk that have complained about the trek. Also, if you smoke, this is a non smoking resort. If you do smoke you will want to strategically locate yourself near the parking lot.
Overall, WBV represents the newest and most luxurious oceanfront, residential-resort vacation experience in Maui. Wailea Grand Champions Villas, Makena Surf and Wailea Beach Villas (opened in May 2006). WBV are far and above the most comfortable and most talked about resort of the three. To say you’ll be living in the lap of luxury is an understatement, if you are looking for luxury and comfort in Maui – there is no other residential resort paradise like the WBV, it was designed to be the best and for the affluent traveler’s pleasure.
