If you enjoy a tropical climate, a Caribbean tour is a very suitable vacation choice. You will have many choices available, in the sites you prefer to see, accommodations and the proximity to a coastal area or a beach. Finding a suitable package is not the main challenge. It is in finding one that is affordable. There are a couple ways to find such packages at a discount.

If you book a car rental, you may also be offered an additional sightseeing package at a discount. If the sites you want to see do not take you off the main roads, you have already won half the battle, by having available transportation. Many travel agents can book such packages for you in advance, when they book your airline reservations, hotel room and car rental. Another way to get a discount is to ask the hotel where you are staying. Most desk clerks or managers know which packages will be more suitable for different types of guests.

Because there are different options in a Caribbean tour, you must decide which types best suit your needs. Some include quite a bit of physical activity, such as backpacking and hiking. Others focus on water activities, such as kayaking or sailing. Much of what you select depends on what you prefer to do in such tropical climates. Make sure you have a knowledgeable captain, if you are selecting a package that includes many boating activities. A good captain will know the waters in the area and how to keep passengers safe.

If you are interested in snorkeling or diving, you may want to consider taking some lessons in advance. Not knowing about techniques ahead of time can take away the fun of viewing all the sea life you will come across. It can also put your safety in jeopardy. If you simply want to do some shallow water snorkeling, you will probably not need lessons in advance.

For those who simply want to enjoy the sun, sand and the crystal blue and green waters, some packages may offer fun activities, such as beach parties or barbecues and many social events. These can be as costly as other packages, depending on the type of arrangements made for food and drinks. It pays to search the internet and call a travel agent, when you want one of these packages for your next vacation. There are many competing packages on the various islands.

Barbados celebrates it’s independence on November 30th, and all month long there are a variety of independence celebrations.

Relax on Barbados only when, the weather has cooled in December, the rains are abating, and there is a good breeze again.

International runners visit Barbados only when in December, they can participate in the Run Barbados International Marathon & 10K Series.

When it comes time to pack for a Caribbean vacation, there are some very specific things that you should have with you. In addition to some of the obvious things such as a swim suit, other clothing, necessary medication and personal items, there are some very specific things that you will want to have. Here are some of the most important items that you should have when you pack for a Caribbean vacation.

Before you even begin to pack, the most important thing that you can do is to organize your documents. You want to make sure that you have your passport, your airline tickets, your boarding passes, your driving license and anything else that you might need for your itinerary during your stay in the Caribbean. When you get ready to leave, make sure that you pack these items somewhere in a secure bag preferably in your carryon luggage.

Next, you’ll want to start packing the rest of the items to go in your carryon bag. When you pack for a Caribbean vacation, you should pack your toiletries and at least a single change of clothes into your carryon bag. In terms of the toiletries, you’ll want to pack fairly light as most Caribbean resort destinations will have things like shampoo, towels, soap and other amenities. You’ll also want to pack anything that is particularly valuable such as portable electronics, or digital camera, or a laptop computer into your carryon bag. When you pack for your Caribbean vacation, you don’t want to get stuck without at least these basic items in the event that your luggage gets lost.

Next, it is time to start packing the main bag that you are going to pack for a Caribbean vacation. Your main bag, if possible, should have wheels so that it is easy to maneuver in the airport and on your way your resort destination in the Caribbean. You’ll want to pack clothes that are appropriate to the climate. In the Caribbean, the climate is usually mild, but rain is not unheard of.

You’ll want to have plenty of underwear as well as socks. You’ll want to make sure you have two or three pairs of pants and the same number of pairs of shorts. Try to stick with cotton or linen pants and shorts because these tend to be lightweight and dry more quickly and tend to be less bulky than jeans. You’ll want to make sure and pack a light jacket that is also waterproof in case you encounter any storms.

Make sure that you pack some comfortable shoes, sandals for the beach, water shoes if you intend to engage in any water sports and a pair of formal shoes in the event that you go out for a nice dinner or special event.

Once you have finished packing for a Caribbean vacation, you want to make sure that there is enough room to bring back your souvenirs. You might alternatively consider packing an empty bag to take with you to take back your souvenirs. Bringing a tote bag or a small backpack along may be a good idea as well as you can use this during day trips.

Are you looking at a Caribbean destination wedding? If you are still examining your options, you might have a few questions. Keep reading on to get some helpful answers.

Question: Why are destination weddings at all-inclusive resorts better? Answer: They are better because of what is available to you. At a traditional hotel, you are likely to find a banquet room for your wedding and maybe a nice garden, but that is about it. All-inclusive Caribbean resorts provide brides and grooms with more options. It is not uncommon for resorts to give you multiple wedding ceremony and reception locations to choose from. You might be able to choose from a banquet room, chapel, beach, garden, balcony, and more!

Question: Is it easier to plan an all-inclusive destination wedding? Answer: Yes! When you book a stay at an all-inclusive resort, your stay automatically includes your room or suite, airfare (optional), food, snacks, drinks, tips, some onsite entertainment, and qualifying airport transfers. This one arrangement plans and pays for a good chunk of your trip. Basically, all that is left is the wedding and you should get a wedding planner. As for the cost of that wedding, you might qualify for a free standard wedding ceremony but upgrade packages are available to make your dream day become a reality. Question: What about my wedding dress?

Answer: It is not uncommon for brides to spend thousands of dollars on their wedding dresses alone. Of course you want to keep yours safe and protected, but how can you do this when traveling thousands of miles? Once you and your luggage (wedding dress included) make it to the Caribbean, it will be safely hung in your all-inclusive resort room. What you might be worried about is the plane ride. It is not uncommon for wedding dresses to go missing or suffer damage when packed in checked luggage. It might be within your best interest, to use your wedding dress as a carry on. In fact, some airlines will hang this on a garment rack for you.

Question: What about wedding decorations? Answer: This is something you will need to workout with your all-inclusive Caribbean resort. For example, all brides like wedding flowers on their big day. Many all-inclusive Caribbean resorts offer guests a free standard wedding ceremony when they meet the minimum stay requirement. This is just a simple and basic wedding. All resorts to have upgrade packages available to make your big day special. Many of these upgrades include wedding decorations, such as wedding flowers, as well as other extras including wedding songs, wedding photography, and so forth.

Question: What about hair and makeup before the big day? Answer: It is not uncommon for brides to visit a salon on their big day at home to get their hair and makeup prepped. You should be able to do this at your all-inclusive Caribbean resort too. These are rarely listed as inclusions; therefore, you will need to pay an extra fee. You can contact your resort or your wedding planner to determine the fee ahead of time. The good news, most resorts are home to spas; therefore, you have all the proper accommodations available right at your fingertips. For an extra affordable fee, your all-inclusive resort might provide you with private in-room hair and makeup.

Question: Can I invite guests? Answer: Yes! If you meet a resorts requirements for a free standard wedding, you will automatically be provided with a small number of guest passes. Additional guest passes are available as an upgrade. This means not only can you invite guests to your big day, but they dont have to stay at the same resort. This is great to know if you intend to combine your wedding and honeymoon into one.

Question: Speaking of guests, what about my wedding invitations? Answer: Your all-inclusive resort will handle many aspects of your destination wedding, but the wedding invitations arent one of them. Perhaps this is best because you get complete freedom and control. Whether you decide to print your own invitations at home or order professional invitations, you might want to consider destination wedding invitations. Not only can you opt for a beautiful Caribbean theme, but these types of invitations tend to allow for more room, which is important when explaining all the important information for a destination wedding.

COZUMEL, MEXICO – Sitting east seaboard area of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, is an isle in the Caribbean called Cozumel. This is a high traffic place travelled, that cruise ships visit. One of the major tourist enticements when visiting Mexico is the Mayan Ruins. The Tulum Mayan Ruins are established on the east edge of the Yucatan Peninsula. It’s advisable to have a tour guide to take you to visit the ruins during your visit.  You can book a shore excursion from the cruise line, which will give you the peace of mind, that if for some reason, the tour runs longer than expected, the cruise ship will wait for your return, provided you booked the excursion through them. Make sure you wear good footwear for lots of strolliing, because the ruins require a lot of walking.

ST. MAARTEN – St. Maarten is located in the Netherland Antilles. When visiting St. Maarten, Philipsburg is the place to go shopping. You will find a variety of merchandise for very low prices. A short walk from the ship, you’ll find a water taxi that will transport you over to Philipsburg. When you get off the ship and through the security gates, you will go slightly to the left to locate the area where the water taxi service is. In Philipsburg, you can enjoy the beach, a few drinks, and great shopping bargains.

ST. THOMAS – St. Thomas is an unincorporated territory of the United States, and is known as St. Thomas Virgin Islands. It’s an island in the Caribbean Sea, and has a view like no other. Most ships are docked, and there are two entrances to the town of Charlotte Amalie from the ports. One is better located and the ship drops you off right in the middle of the town where you can take the Sky Tram up to Paradise Point. This is a must, if you ever visit St. Thomas. A tour to Blackbeard’s Castle is a great experience as well. The other dock is located across from Charlotte Amalie and a taxi is needed to get to and from the ship. Check with your cruise line to find out which dock your ship will be at, so you can plan your visit better.

BELIZE CITY, BELIZE – Cruise ships anchor in Belize, and you have to be transported via a tender boat. Tender boats are just smaller vessels utilised to transport travellers to their destinations. The City of Belize,  is the biggest town in Belize. The major affinity of Belize is the Xunantunich Mayan Ruins. Xunantunich is a Maya archaeological located in western Belize. They are  approx. 80 miles west of Belize City. If you’re travelling to one of these ruins, be prepared to sit on a coach bus for roughly 2 hours each way to get there. The excursion is approximately 6 1/2 hours long, so it will occupy the majority of your day.

Belize has so much to relish, and diving is one of Belize’s large-scale tourist enticements, due to the beautiful reefs and cayes that are virtually unbroken. They continue for 150 miles along the seaboard area, and they make up the longest reef schemes in the whole western hemisphere, making it the second largest in the world.

GRAND TURK – Grand Turk is located in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The waters that surround Grand Turk Island is the most gorgeous blue waters that you’ll ever see. The island is small in comparison to other islands that tourists visit. It’s a very quaint island and has some of the most beautiful views in the Caribbean. If you ever get a chance to go to Grand Turk, a visit to the lighthouse is a must. The view of the shore line is like no other.

Wherever you decide to visit in the Caribbean, all the islands are absolutely beautiful. These were my favorites, and most seem to start seeming very similar, once you’ve visited so many. All of them are little paradises away from the regular hussle and bussle of normal day life, and it’s always nice to get away.
