Beach real estate is attractive property, from both an aesthetic and a financial standpoint. Humans instinctively find large bodies of water both beautiful and relaxing, as there is an urge to “return home” every now and then. As a buyer in search of a place to live, you may be willing to pay top dollar to live in such a place. Anyone who has ever experienced the right plot of California or Florida real estate can attest to that.
For me there is nothing better than sitting on my balcony and feeling the sea breeze as I look over the vast ocean waves. It is something that is reinforced by Hollywood movies as most movies set in California feature California beach houses and seaside luxury estates. It has made these images part of the American dream.
These advantages of living near or on a beach make investing in beach real estate an attractive option as well. The beauty and desirability of the spot may make it easy to find and keep tenants, if rental property is what you’re after. You may also find yourself, as a real estate investor, in a position to own the land under the businesses of a thriving beach community. There is, however, a dark side to the beauty and fun of beachfront property.
The very thing that makes this type of property so appealing also provides opportunity for great storms to ravage the area. Those who own Florida real estate are well acquainted with hurricanes that tear their way in from the ocean and rip structures apart, uproot trees, drop large pieces of debris into pristine beaches and frighten away potential tourists and tenants alike. Flooding can render a house unusable and cause the owner to spend thousands upon thousands putting repairing damage. Even if a storm doesn’t make your beautiful property its victim, erosion probably will.
A real estate investor will also need to take into consideration the seasonal appeal that such an area may have and keep in mind that business will slow down significantly during winter months for any operations that are located on beachfront property. People familiar with California real estate are familiar with certain areas’ seasonal appeal.
That doesn’t make beach real estate a bad investment, however, because things tend to even out. As an investor, you may have to charge tenants more in order to make up for all the repair work you may have to pay for, but take a look at the business owner who wants to put a building on your land. Business owners know that they will make plenty of money during the area’s tourist season to offset the costs of storm damage and slow winter months. What it ultimately comes down to, is that the pros and cons of investing in property like this can balance out each other if its owner is savvy enough to know how to handle the finances.
He knows he will make enough money during tourist season to offset the costs of a slow winter, especially with properties like California real estate or Florida real estate. Even with all its potential excitement, beachfront property can be a lucrative investment.

Fort Myers Beach Vacations

A vacation on the Gulf of Mexico has a certain quality of removal and relief that’s not found just anywhere. Places like Sanibel Island, Fort Myers, Captiva and others all shine with a special brand of radiance perfectly suited for obliterating the aura of stress and tension that tends to surround the daily life of so many of us – a trip to this region guarantees a return to what’s important.
Focusing on Fort Myers Beach, once a quaint settlement only accessible by boat, it might very well be possible to craft the ideal getaway. White sands, stunning sunsets, a little bit of eco-friendliness, tons of enthralling beach and recreational activities…all the ingredients are here. Cross the bridge to this refuge of a town and prepare to feel the weight of the world lift from your shoulders.
Fort Myers Beach is known for being a well-equipped yet laid-back spot; offering all that tourists need without the overwhelming crowds and hassles of visiting a busy, buzzing magnet for travelers. Orlando and Miami aren’t too far away so a quick dip into chaos is possible if you desire, but this is the place to be if a little rest and breathing room are in order.
Diversions to look forward to include some of the best beachcombing in Florida, jet skiing, bird watching, scuba diving, outlet mall shopping and deep-sea fishing. This is just a surface level sampling, of course, as the tropical climate, fun-loving atmosphere and physical beauty of land and sea all have the power to provide so much more. Each person in a given traveling group likely has their own goals for what to see and do (or not do, if this is indeed all about forgetting and relaxing); Fort Myers Beach is ready to take on any and all expectations.
Follow Estero Boulevard to discover various points of public beach access. Just down the way is Lynn Hall Memorial Park, the place to go for families in search of bonuses like a playground. Farther north is Bowditch Point Regional Park, another gem worth taking a look it. Its rough natural beauty as well as amenities that include restrooms and picnic areas makes it a must-visit. Finally, Fort Myers Beach Fishing Pier is not only a fun gathering spot and lookout point, but a top-notch place to cast a line.
In addition to enjoying the typical activities along the coastline, check out the unique corners of interest, too. It might be hard to tear yourselves away from a prime spot on the warm sand, but it’ll be worth it. Plus, the beach will be there when you get back. Try the Ostego Bay Marine Science Center for a little family fun and education or Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve to receive an up close and personal view of the natural habitat and nearby ocean dwellers. The surrounding towns have plenty of museums and eco-tours as well, so explore the possibilities of this rich land.
Bargain shopping, nightlife and plenty of restaurants, not to mention various festivals and special events, round out Fort Myers Beach’s reputation as a solid vacation destination. Enjoy fresh seafood for breakfast, lunch and dinner (if you so desire), pick up the perfect souvenirs, enjoy a night on the dance floor…in between dolphin watching, manatee scoping, sea shelling and napping in a lounge chair there’s no shortage of “civilized” activities to engage in.
On that note, be sure to reserve a place to stay that will not only keep you housed in comfort, but in class and convenience as well. Fort Myers Vacation Rentals make an excellent choice, and often cost no more than standard hotel accommodations. Considering that condos, villas and beach houses tend to strike a different chord (with their full kitchens, Jacuzzi tubs, entertainment centers, etc…) this is good news for travelers who may not be acquainted with this particular choice. Picking a property from the extensive offerings online usually ends up being the foundation for a successful trip, no matter where it is you’ve set your sights on.
Any time of year is a good time to visit Fort Myers Beach, so clear a spot on the calendar and go for it. When properly planned and entered into with abandon, this could be just the trip to bring back the peace of mind that has lately taken a vacation itself.
Myrtle Beach is already a pretty exciting place. With fantastic beaches and some of the country’s most amazing condo developments, Myrtle Beach combines great living with perfect scenery and amenities. Well get ready for another addition to the Myrtle Beach picture that will add a musical note to the city. In the Spring of 2008 The Hard Rock Park is set to open in Myrtle Beach. This is planned to be the world’s first rock ‘n roll theme park and will cover more than 140 acres and is the first major U.S. attraction to be constructed in the last decade. This is directed at bringing even more of a tourist trade to South Carolina.
The new park plans on having more than 40 attractions to engage visitors with, including roller coasters and live music stages. Also featured will be children’s areas, cafe’s and stores. Needless to say that people in Myrtle Beach are excited about this development as it stands to give Myrtle Beach more of a destination drawing feature. The park is looking to incorporate six different areas that are each dedicated to a different aspect of rock music. These will include the entry plaza, rock ‘n Roll Heaven, British Invasion, Lost in the 70′s, Born in the U.S.A. and Cool Country. These areas will cover the many different types and styles of music that has helped to define us as a culture.
This theme park is going to bode well for real estate in Myrtle Beach. With a major attraction now in close proximity it is taking up the same kind of reputation as areas like Orlando with the bonus that it lies right on the beach. There are going to be some really interesting things going on in Myrtle Beach in the coming year, it will be interesting to see what effect the theme park has on the town and on popularity of housing and condos. If history is any indication it will cause a boom in the Myrtle Beach housing industry. There truly are some exciting times ahead for Myrtle Beach, get in on things now while it is still possible! Before long this may be a difficult area to get into.

There’s something stirring about the sight of a lone beach house facing the ocean. It’s unprotected yet imposing, solitary yet welcoming, and almost always causes the onlooker’s mind to imagine scenes of leisurely breakfasts, curtains swinging in the breeze, and languid sunsets that serve as the perfect endings to perfect days. If you’ve yet to experience life from such a vantage point, or if it’s just been too long since you have, then look into renting a vacation home that will open the door to your innermost vacation longings.
North Carolina’s coastal regions are simple, straightforward, and oh-so-right for families and traveling groups of all kinds. Here, you’ll be able to relax and unwind without too much hassle; for example, you can leave the car parked in the garage and make your swimsuit the standard uniform for the duration of your trip. Once you’ve made it out to your little corner of the coast, it will be acceptable and preferred to everyone involved to just kick back and stick close to “home.”
Imagine trekking to Kure Beach and being handed an interesting looking key. You make your way towards your temporary home and find yourself surprisingly excited at what exists behind the solid wooden door. You open it to reveal a house unlike any you’ve ever stayed in, which immediately makes you feel adventurous, energized, and flushed with life. This is going to be a good trip, you can already tell.
The high ceilings, plentiful windows, and earth toned-walls create an indoor atmosphere that reflects the scenic ocean landscape. You can see outside from every angle thanks to the wrap around glass, and are delighted to note that an expansive porch will encourage lots of outdoor lollygagging and family bonding. You can already see everyone gathered around the grill for a delicious meal of freshly caught fish, and the patio chairs are perfect for hosting cocktail hour (or hours, if you like).
The beach will be a constant attraction for everyone, and thanks to the outdoor shower and cupboards full of fresh towels, jumping in and out of the water will be a stress-free affair. Shifting attention spans and forgotten sunscreen used to be an annoying aspect of beach-going, but this time the kids can be as kid-like as ever with no reason to stress. Park yourself under an umbrella and watch with relief as the day swims by without a hitch.
Another feature that will have you breathing easier involves your four-legged family member. Do you usually shudder at the thought of the kennel that your poor puppy has been left behind in? If so, research until you find a place that is pet friendly. Many properties in Kure Beach welcome dogs and have fenced-in yards for your convenience, so get ready to pack the leash and the frisbee along with the rest of necessary traveling items.
Kure Beach has a quiet downtown of sorts, home to a popular pier for fishing and sea gazing, a few restaurants, and a boardwalk that’s definitely worth seeing. Remember, there’s no shame in discovering your inner homebody, so after a quick visit to the “action” in town you’ll be perfectly justified in maximizing the pleasure of staying barefoot and swimsuit-clad for days at a time. The outside activities plus the entertainment center, games, and movies that you’ll find inside the comfy house will all compete for your attention. You could end up feeling pretty busy, actually.
Kure Beach NC Vacation Rentals stand out from the pack when it comes to methods and means of enjoying your hard-earned vacation. Distinctive, comfortable, and off the beaten path, your hideaway will suit you and surprise you in every possible way. If you’re feeling intrigued, go online to check out the options and be ready to look at things from a whole new perspective.
Hurricane Ike came roaring on shore in September 2008 with Galveston and Surfside Beach in its bullseye. Galveston and Bolivar Island, on the “dirty” side of the storm, suffered significant damage. Surfside Beach on the good side of the hurricane, fared the wrath of nature amazingly well.
A scant 4 months after the storm, Surfside Beach is up and thriving. Very few reminders of Ike are visible, with the possible exception of a closed Kitty’s Purple Cow. Kitty’s was a Surfside Beach as well as a Texas institution with a reputation of serving up some of the best hamburgers this side of the Rio Grande.
The damage to Kitty’s is so severe since it was on the ground level rather than elevated on posts, that permanent closure is more than a possiblity. A permanent closure would be a real loss to the locals and visitors to Surfside Beach. Children, now grown, were bringing their children to this fabled restaurant of summer Texas beach memories. It would be the end of an era.
The Red Snapper Inn with its great gumbo is open along with the Valero station and quick stop. Hammerheads Bar and Grill hardly skipped a beat and was open soon after residents were allowed back into the Village of Surfside Beach. Castaways Club and Grill is back to rocking with the locals favorite of karoke on the weekends. The Jetty Shack is back to serving up its famous jumbo Angus burgers. Life on Surfside Beach is good.
Beach house rentals are back on track and seem to be only a little slower than is normal for the winter months. That could be more due to the economy than fears that the town is crippled. Word travels fast and Surfside Beach devotees soon learned that their favorite surfing, fishing, beaching spot was back and as good as ever.
Surfside Beach is the best kept secret in Texas – nearer than Galveston to Houston, yet close to all that Galveston has to offer. And, the City of Galveston just didn’t do the job in getting back up that Surfside did. Galveston was known for its boisterous crowds, and for being less than family friendly. This is one charming beach town with no high-rise condos or hotels & 21 miles of unspoiled shoreline where relaxing is the order of every day.
Whether it’s birding, fishing, surfing a few waves, or just relaxing on the beach, Surfside Beach is the perfect Texas coastal destination. It is nestled between Galveston, Freeport, the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway, where highway 332 meets the sea.
While the town’s beaches stretch only 4 miles from the Freeport jetty, to the east of the town limits are miles of windswept sandy beaches where it’s only you, the salty breeze, the birds, and other wildlife. Birders are amazed at the abundance and variety of birds that gather in and around Surfside (Southern Brazoria County has been ranked number one 12 times in the past 20 years for migratory bird sightings).
Surfside Beach also is home to the Beach House. Hundreds and hundreds of multi-colored dwellings line the gulf, ready and waiting for you to call home, for a week or a weekend. Most all of them are ready for occupancy.
The great condition of the town stands as a stark testament to the “can do,” close knit community. While the summer population swells into the thousands, the 900 or so year round residents are what causes Surfside Beach to tick. They are what make the village so warm, inviting and comfortable for anyone fortunate enough to find this gem of a vacation spot.

Palm Beach is not just exclusive residential enclaves of millionaire’s winter beach houses, nor is it only about shopping for wildly expensive designer labels in exclusive boutiques. The region has a lot more to offer than just a peek at the lifestyles of the rich and famous.
The city is synonymous with world class beaches, great golf, tennis, boating and diving. There are more than 150 golf courses and over 1,100 tennis courts within the Palm Beach County precincts. Two golf courses that are open to the public are Palm Beach Public Golf Course on the island and Emerald Dunes Golf Course in West Palm Beach.
Palm Beach is a popular destination for scuba divers as they can reach the off shore reef using guide boats operating from the local marinas. As with nearly all Florida beach destinations, Palm Beach offers lots of opportunities for water sports such as sail boating, jet-skiing, kayaking, water skiing, para-sailing and fishing.
The luxury mansion commissioned by Henry Flagler (a railroads and oil baron) as a wedding present to his third wife is now the renowned Flagler Museum. The mansion, with 55 rooms all furnished with European antique pieces in a variety of themes and styles, is known as the “Taj Mahal of North America”. The mansion is set in magnificent grounds, the highlight of which is Mr. Flagler’s restored, private railroad car.
The Norton Museum of Art, first opened in 1941, is now world famous for its permanent collections and the quality of its traveling exhibitions. The display featured the art collections of Ralph and Elizabeth Norton and now houses a French collection that contains works by C?nne, Degas, Gauguin, Matisse, Monet, Picasso, Pissarro, and Renoir. The permanent exhibits also contain paintings by Warhol, Hopper, Pollock and O’Keefe.
A family favorite, especially for younger children, is Playmobil Fun Park with its replica castle and themed play areas such as a medieval village, a western town and a fantasy doll house.
Lion Country Safari contains over 1,300 animals that include elephants, ostriches, wildebeest, antelopes, chimpanzees, American bison, buffalo, flamingos and many other unusual species. The 500 acre animal preserve is divided into simulated geographical regions that range from the East African Serengeti to the American West.
The park has an un-caged environment for the animals and humans move through the park via motor vehicle following a viewing loop road. Other park attractions include an amusement park with a carousel, paddleboats, mini golf and a popular baby animal nursery. The park provides a great family day out.
The Lake Trail runs the length of The Island on the Intracoastal Waterway side and is a popular scenic biking route that offers views of some of the mansions and grounds as well as views of downtown West Palm Beach.
What better way to bring together your home’s beach decor than with a coastal or tropical theme area rug? Often overlooked, floor coverings are a unique and fun way to accentuate your beach house style. These rugs come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors to suit any room in your house.
When shopping for an area rug, there are several factors to take into consideration to make sure you find the perfect choice. Style, color and shape all play a crucial part in making sure your rug blends seamlessly with your beach decor. There are so many options that, with a little research, you will be sure to find something ideal to fit your needs.
Think about the room that you are decorating? What is the main concept? Do you want your room to have the feel of a surfer’s sanctuary? A tropical paradise? A coastal cottage? Your last family beach vacation? The options are limitless!
For a room with cool, laid-back surfer style, consider the ever-popular surfboard rug. Available in different sizes (“longboard” or “shortboard”), colors and patterns, these rugs could become the centerpiece of your room. If you prefer something a little more traditional, shape-wise, you can choose from plenty of rectangular-shaped surf theme area rugs.
Do you prefer your decor to have a more subdued, coastal feel? Highlight your floors with casual rugs in patterns of seashells or nautical stripes. Pair these rugs with white walls, light furniture and breezy window treatments to make your home feel like a cottage by the shore.
Depending on your taste, the color of your rugs can range from bright and splashy to understated and sophisticated, all while still maintaining your beach decor theme. Choose from vibrant floral patterns in rich reds, blues and greens for that island feeling. For a seaside retreat, choose more muted shades of aqua and tan reminiscent of sandy beaches and clear blue waters.
Area rugs are now available in all shapes and sizes. Smaller rugs are great in the bathroom or even as welcome mats at the front door. Larger rugs can be used to bring the furnishings and other accents in bigger rooms together, such as the dining room or living room. Long surfboard rugs can be used as hallway runners, and whimsical odd-shaped rugs can be a conversation piece all on their own!
So many elements go into interior design and floor coverings play an important role. You can find a great rug to match your current beach decor, or choose your rug first and then pattern your room around it. No matter what order you go in when you are decorating your beach house, remember not to leave out what’s right under your feet!
You work hard, don’t play enough, and are in desperate need of a vacation. Why should a few spoiled kids on television get to have all the fun? Why should the idyllic beach beauty of Laguna Beach be wasted on those who don’t know how to properly appreciate it? If you’re tired of this vast injustice, then do something about it. Pick out a temporary home for yourself along the shores of the Pacific and prepare to show those drama queens how life is meant to be lived.
Imagine unpacking all of your fabulous, expensive clothes into the walk-in closet, grabbing your oversized sunglasses, and taking the twenty steps or so that it requires to make it to the beach. If you’ve brought your miniature dog along with you in your purse you’ll probably be fine, since many Laguna Beach vacation rentals are pet-friendly.
Even if you don’t have all these star qualities and accessories, you’ll feel like a celebrity as you tour your home away from home. The private deck, the hot tub, the refrigerator worthy of holding lots of champagne and strawberries…there are so many details to make you feel special. These properties are perfect for stealing a romantic weekend with your honey, as it’s possible to stay pretty self-contained within the airy, stylish walls of your cute little cottage. Breakfast in bed will disappoint the paparazzi waiting outside the door, but will make you feel as happy as can be.
While some vacation homes are tucked away from the beaten path, others are gathered in gated communities and equipped with resort-style conveniences while maintaining a semblance of privacy. Swimming pools, tennis courts, gyms and spas are within walking distance from your front door, but as opposed to a hotel, you still have a house-like property that makes you feel independent and unique. Finding balance between convenience and one-of-a-kind features is not easy, but the selection of rentals you’ll find in Laguna Beach somehow manage to do the trick.
The beach will probably demand most of your attention, so as long as you’ve remembered your swimsuit and sunblock you’ll be all set for a good time. Don’t forget that Orange County is known for great restaurants, shopping, art festivals and even wilderness as well, though. If you can manage it, try to shower off and put on something less casual for a night on the town; it’ll be fun to show off your suntan and your carefree attitude along with all the other Laguna revelers.
If this is a group event, larger beach houses will be able to accommodate everyone’s diverse needs. Smoothie drinkers will love to find a blender in the cabinet, a selection of DVDs will entertain the film buffs, spices and utensils will allow the chef in the house to prepare miraculous meals with the staples picked up from the grocery store down the street, and the array of bedrooms and bathrooms means everyone can retreat to their own spaces whenever the need arises. It’s a recipe for success, believe it.
If you’ve a mind to test out a life of luxury for a week or two, this is it. Laguna Beach attracts celebrities, hedonists, and those in need of a true break from reality, so if you fall into any of these categories go online today to reserve the perfect Laguna Beach Vacation Rental. You’ll know it when you see it.
